Skool News #81: Global Feed and 31 Discovery Categories
Skool News #81 introduces the Global Feed, grows Discovery from nine categories to 31, reveals the secret project and updates the road map.

Skool News #81, published on 3 November 2026, introduces the Global Feed, an optional page showing posts from every group you are in, expands Discovery from about nine categories to 31, confirms that this feed was the road map's secret project, and says Live Calls V2 should reach everyone the following week.
Both headline features are described as shipped, while the rest of the road map remains plans. If you only want the category list, we read it and matched it to revenue in Skool categories: the Discovery list.
Skool News #81 in short
- Global Feed: reached through the group switcher, opt-in, and your default feed does not change
- Top row: your most used groups, and whether any are live
- Discovery: about 9 categories became 31
- Leaderboards: now split by the new categories too
- Secret project: it was the Global Feed
What is the Skool Global Feed?
The Global Feed is a single page of recent posts from all the Skool groups you belong to, opened from the group switcher, with your most used groups across the top and a marker showing if any of them are live.
The row at the top reorders itself by your recent activity. One click takes you into a group, from the top row or from inside a post. The hosts stress that nothing changes unless you choose it: everyone else still lands on their default group feed.
Why did Skool build the Global Feed?
The hosts say members join several groups, forget about some of them, and find checking each one too much effort, so the feed resurfaces those groups in one place to lift engagement and make joining another paid group feel worthwhile.
Their internal testing, as they describe it, showed people engaging again with groups they had forgotten, and some wanting to join more groups. One host says it made him join more because his feed was all business and he also wanted health and fitness. No numbers were given.
For owners, the claimed upside is retention, call attendance and new members. The obvious flip side, that your group's posts now compete with every other group in a member's feed, was not discussed. Live visibility also raises the stakes for your calendar and live calls.
How many Discovery categories does Skool have now?
Skool now has 31 Discovery categories, up from about nine, according to the hosts, who say they split the overloaded ones like money and hobbies by looking at where both demand, meaning Discovery searches and ad buyers, and supply, meaning existing groups, showed a real market segment.
Named in the episode: AI automation, AI video, side hustles, ads and marketing, e-com, trading, real estate, credit and sales. Our full list has the 30 we read on 6 November with each category's top earner.
The change reaches leaderboards as well, so you can now see the best groups in a narrower niche. That shifts how you rank on Discovery too: you are compared in a smaller pool. On the feature's value for browsing, the hosts offer only that they "think" it will help.
What is on the Skool road map after #81?
The road map on 3 November showed the Global Feed shipped, Live Calls V2 in live testing that week with release to everyone planned for the next, and payment methods in progress, with global search, currencies and a native app after that.
| Item | #79 (20 Oct) | #80 (27 Oct) | #81 (3 Nov) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Secret project | Listed, no detail | Listed, no detail | Shipped: Global Feed |
| Live Calls V2 | "Next week or two" | Testing this week, wider next week | Testing this week, everyone next week |
| Payment methods | "Could be in a month or something" | Listed, no new detail | Working on it, no date |
| Global search | Up next | Up next | Up next, now to include posts from one box |
| Currencies | After payments | Up next | After payments |
| Native app | Up next, prototype exists | Up next | Up next |
The live calls line is worth watching. The release moved a week between #80 and #81 in almost the same words. That is not a criticism of the work, only a reason not to plan around a date. For the checkout plan, see Skool payment methods, and for the money side, the #79 recap.
Which groups were score of the week in #81?
The three groups were Wholesailors at a stated $99,000 a month, Ena's Dance Academy at a stated $32,000 a month, and Rank Expand Academy at a stated $96,600 a month, and the Skool leaderboard three days later disagreed sharply on one of them.
| Group | Stated on 3 November | Skool leaderboard, 6 November |
|---|---|---|
| Wholesailors (Maximilian Dier) | $99,000/month | $99,766/month, Real Estate |
| Ena's Dance Academy | $32,000/month | Not in the top 100 (floor $52,600) |
| Rank Expand Academy (Jesse Cunningham) | $96,600/month, $99/month, 1,100 members | $62,596/month, Ads & Marketing |
The Rank Expand gap is $34,004 between a figure spoken on 3 November and one displayed on 6 November. We cannot explain it from these sources, and we are showing both numbers with their dates, not picking one.
The notes from the hosts: Wholesailors has a pirate theme, with the owner in a pirate hat, on a promise of a first $10,000 deal in 90 days from anywhere. They read it as proof that a normal niche can be made fun. Ena's Dance Academy teaches Latin dance to pro am dancers, with the owner described on the page as a five times world champion. Rank Expand teaches how to land a first AI SEO client in 90 days.
The takeaway: members in several groups now have a reason to open one feed, and owners in big old categories have a smaller pool to compete in. Check which category your group landed in before you assume anything about your Discovery traffic.
