Skool News #78: Four Growth Boost Levels and Ad Visibility

Skool News #78 explains the four Growth Boost levels, their 30-day gates, ad visibility and why an unlocked level does not guarantee spend.

Skool News #78: Four Growth Boost Levels and Ad Visibility

Skool News #78 gives owners a more concrete view of Growth Boost: four levels, visible ad creatives, and specific 30-day qualification gates. The crucial limit is that qualifying for a level does not guarantee ad spend or paid members. Sam Ovens says distribution still depends on whether the campaigns work economically.

Sam shared the original Skoolers announcement, titled "Skool News #78 - 4 Levels of Boost + See your ads!" It displayed 2d (edited) when captured in the authenticated Skoolers community on 15 October 2026. The linked Skool News video, "The 4 Levels of Growth Boost | Skool News #78," shows a 14 October 2026 publication date and video ID 9AwagkJcEqM. We used its timestamped English auto-captions, checking the ambiguous wording against the visible announcement.

What does each Growth Boost level offer?

Level Announced feature Stated qualification
1 Cover-image carousel exposure; no custom ads Baseline level shown in the episode
2 About ten custom ad variants At least 100 About-page visitors and one new paid customer in the previous 30 days
3 About 30 custom variants and up to $1,000 a day of dedicated spend At least 3,000 About-page visitors, a Skool link in the social bio, consistent organic promotion, and 10 paid Skool Network signups in 30 days
4 Partner ads, owner-uploaded video and up to $10,000 a day of spend At least 10,000 About-page visitors, the bio link and organic promotion, and 30 Skool Network signups in 30 days

Those thresholds are drawn from the presenter walk-through around 2:41 to 10:25. They are not a promise that every owner sees the same interface today. The creative number can vary during testing; the speaker says level two may initially show fewer than ten. Owner-uploaded static images at level three were discussed as a possibility, not announced as a shipped feature. Video upload was described for level four.

The level-three and level-four spend numbers are upper bounds, not an allowance automatically paid to each qualifying group. At 10:34 to 12:12, the presenter says ad performance and economics still determine actual investment. Our Growth Boost results guide explains why visitors, trial starts, paid conversions and retained members need separate measurement.

Can owners see and influence the ads?

The episode shows the Growth tab displaying generated creatives. Sam says ads draw on the community's About page, cover and price, and that major changes can trigger new creative versions. He describes a refresh often taking around an hour. That is an operational claim in the video, not a guaranteed service level we measured. Inspect the actual ads visible in your account, particularly the offer and price, before sharing them or using them as proof of accurate representation.

This makes About-page clarity more important. State the audience, outcome, access and price plainly. A generated ad may amplify confusing source material. Do not infer from a polished ad that your promise, checkout and onboarding are aligned.

What changed in reviews?

At the start of #78, Skool also describes a new default "top" review ordering. The ranking takes into account star rating, written detail and whether the reviewer has remained a paying member for longer; visitors can still switch to recent reviews. The presenter says paying-member duration was corrected for returning members. We did not independently audit the ranking algorithm, so treat that as the platform's explanation of the update.

This is distinct from News #76's early level outline and News #77's creative-rollout plan. #78 is the episode that supplies the fuller gates and shows the owner-facing ad view. It also features Numbers with Greg Tang; our existing community analysis covers that offer without duplicating a profile here.

What should a community owner do now?

First, open the Growth tab actually available to you and record its current criteria and creatives. Second, compare your About-page visitors, paid Skool Network signups, trial starts and churn over the same 30-day window. Third, check whether ads describe the offer accurately. Improve the page and the first member experience before trying to maximize a level badge. If you have not launched yet, start with a clear member outcome, not an assumed advertising entitlement.

The takeaway: Growth Boost now has a clearer progression, but eligibility, distribution and profitable member growth are three different things.
