Which Skool communities for artists have the most members?

Di-Maccio Art Academy is more than twice the size of second place, and it teaches beginners to draw. We dropped 7 of the 30 rooms in the category because they are not visual art or craft: voiceover, dance, a beta reader group for authors, koji fermentation, selling baked treats, and two rooms for film and editing. Every room kept shows a price, and no room from this page reached the Skool leaderboard's top 100.

Why are art rooms so cheap compared with the rest of Skool?

Because most of them sell a hobby rather than an income. Twelve of the 21 monthly prices here are $9 or less, across stationery, stickers, jewelry, calligraphy and appliqué, and Wire Jewelry Skool and Canva to Cash: Foundations display $1/mo with more than 1,000 members each. Compare that with the $39 median across the 768 monthly prices we recorded in September.

The expensive end is where a career is the product. Tattoo is the clearest case: Tattoo Systems shows $79/mo, Hussein Mistrah Tattoo Academy $49/mo and Tattoo Masterclass $39/mo, and that last room also has the most reviews here at 5.0 from 33 reviews. In painting, Sams Landscape Painting School shows $33/mo and The Drawing Tribe $34/mo, against $7/mo for the much larger room.

Who is selling what they make?

Paid event craft is a small economy of its own on this page. Balloon artists have JPD BALLOON DESIGN EDUCATION and The Thrill Effect, the latter claiming a route from $500 bookings to $1K to $5K+ events. Event Decor Makers covers event decor, and The Glitz Elite Growth Lab and Johnson Favors Creative Vault cover party favors. Paper goods form another cluster: Printable Stickers Club, Stationery Creators Club and Friendly Scribblers hold 2,926 members. Several combine making with selling, so decide which one you want, as a hobbyist does not need the pricing lessons.

What should you check before paying for an art community?

Ask how you get feedback on your own work, since that is what a video library cannot give you.

  1. Do you get critiques? Sams Landscape Painting School describes feedback from fellow artists, which is different from feedback from the teacher. Ask which you get.
  2. Is it for your stage? Di-Maccio Art Academy is built for beginners, while Tattoo Systems says it is for tattoo artists already committed to improving.
  3. What do supplies cost? A $5/mo balloon or Cricut room may still need hundreds in equipment. Ask for the kit list first.
  4. Is an upsell the real product? JPD BALLOON DESIGN EDUCATION is open about this, with a $5 tier and a $49 premium tier. Ask other rooms at $1 to $9 what the next tier costs.
  5. Tattoo students: where will you practise? Local health and licensing rules apply to working on skin, and a course cannot clear those for you.

How this list was built

This list is the first page of Skool Discovery for the Arts & Crafts category, read on 6 November 2026 and sorted by Skool's trending order. It is not a census, so rooms further down the category are missing, and the figures move. "Ranked" means ordered by member count, not our endorsement, and we have not joined these rooms. Rating and member counts are what Skool displayed. "No price shown" can mean free, or simply that Discovery displayed no price. No community pays to rank here. The wider data sits in the Skool Community Index for November 2026 and the Skool Discovery categories list. Outside this first page, see the Creative Drawing Club and Aimee Erickson Paint Club breakdowns.
