Skool Community Cost: 768 Monthly Prices Measured

The median Skool community costs $39 a month to join. That is the middle price of the 768 monthly-priced communities listed in Skool Discovery on 7 September 2026, out of 1,000 rooms we recorded. A quarter charge $17 or less, a quarter charge $67 or more, and 91.9% charge under $100. The cheapest was $1 a month and the dearest was $1,950.

This is the price a member pays to join somebody else's community. It is a different question from what Skool charges an owner to run one, which is covered in how much Skool costs, and from what you should charge, which is covered in how to price a Skool community.

What did we actually measure?

We paged through Skool's public Discovery listing in trending order until it stopped returning results, which happened at 1,000 communities, and recorded each room's slug, published price, member count and creation date exactly as Skool publishes them. Every figure below comes from that single pull on 7 September 2026.

Three limits apply to all of it, and they matter.

First, Discovery stops at 1,000 rooms. Skool does not publish how many communities exist in total, so this is the top of its own trending list, not a census of the platform. Second, 162 of the 1,000 publish no price in the Discovery payload, and those 162 are not all free. We opened four of them by hand: Clief Notes shows a plain "Join group" button and is free, while Maker School reads $184 a month on its join button, Volpro reads $99 and Rich Habits Network reads $77. Because that bucket is mixed, we excluded all 162 from every price figure below and drew no free-versus-paid ratio from them. Third, a published price is the front-door price. It does not capture annual options, trials, hidden tiers or the discount somebody negotiated.

How much does it cost to join a Skool community?

Across the 768 rooms with a published monthly price, the median is $39, the mean is $56.36, and the distribution is heavily bunched under $100.

Two thirds of the market sits under $50 a month: 498 of 768 rooms, or 64.8%. Add the $50 to $99 band and 91.9% of every priced community in Discovery is under $100. Only 62 rooms of 768 charge three figures a month or more.

The quartiles tell the same story more precisely. The 25th percentile is $17, the median is $39, the 75th percentile is $67 and the 90th percentile is $99. The 99th percentile is $279, so the four-figure prices at the top are genuine outliers rather than a tier.

What are the most common Skool prices?

Ten price points account for nearly half the market. The single most common monthly price on Skool Discovery is $9, charged by 62 of the 768 rooms.

Those ten prices cover 362 of the 768 rooms, or 47.1%. Pricing on Skool is not a smooth curve, it is a small set of magnet numbers with gaps between them.

Why do so many Skool prices end in 7 or 9?

Because charm pricing is close to universal here. Of the 768 monthly prices, 301 end in a 9 and 193 end in a 7. Together that is 494 rooms, or 64.3% of the market.

Round numbers of any kind are the minority: only 69 of the 768 prices, 9.0%, end in a zero at all, and that bucket includes $30, $60, $150 and every other multiple of ten. If you are choosing a price, the practical read is that $47 and $49 are inside the crowd and $50 is outside it, and the crowd is where buyers have been trained to expect the number to land.

How big are Skool communities?

The median community in Discovery holds 206 members. The distribution is far more skewed than the pricing one.

A quarter of the communities Skool actively surfaces hold 64 members or fewer, and the smallest we recorded held two. That is worth holding on to if you are weighing whether to start a Skool community: the listing is not reserved for large rooms.

How new are they?

Very. Of the 1,000 rooms, 457 were created during 2026 and 310 during 2025, so 76.7% of everything Skool is surfacing is under two years old.

Only 32 of the 1,000 predate 2024. Discovery is weighted toward recency, which is either encouraging or sobering depending on which side of the listing you are standing on.

Does Discovery show you the biggest earners?

No, and this is the sharpest divergence in the whole pull. We compared our 1,000 Discovery rooms against the 100 highest-earning communities on Skool's own public leaderboard, taken the same day. Only 57 of those top 100 appear anywhere in Discovery. Forty-three do not.

The two largest earners on the platform are both missing. The number one room reads $1,000,877 a month and the number two reads $750,340, and neither appears in the 1,000 rooms Discovery returned. Almost half the money at the top of Skool is invisible to somebody browsing the listing.

Where a big earner does appear, its position bears no relation to its revenue. Maker School sits at Discovery position 2 and is the fourth highest earner. Scaler is the third highest earner and sits at position 443. Wealthy Plumber earns $66,290 a month and sits at position 723.

The builder read is straightforward. Discovery ranks by its own trending signal, not by revenue, so a strong Discovery position is a traffic outcome rather than a money outcome. If you want the money view, the Skool Games leaderboard and the MRR leaderboard are the boards that carry it, and ranking in Discovery is a separate exercise with its own keyword mechanics.

The formula you can copy

Price inside the crowd, not outside it. Just under two thirds of the market is below $50, at 64.8%, and just under two thirds of prices end in a 7 or a 9, at 64.3%. Landing on $47 or $49 rather than $50 costs you almost nothing and puts your number where buyers expect it.

Do not confuse listing position with earnings. Forty-three of Skool's hundred biggest earners are not in Discovery at all, so a room's absence from the listing says nothing about whether it works.

Is Skool community cost the same as Skool's own pricing?

Does a high Discovery position mean a community earns a lot?

No. On our 7 September 2026 pull, 43 of Skool's 100 highest-earning communities did not appear in Discovery at all, including the two biggest, and the third biggest earner sat at position 443. Discovery position reflects Skool's trending signal, not revenue.
