Ancient Knowledge Academy Review: Paul Wallis on Skool

Paul Wallis runs Ancient Knowledge Academy at $55 a month or $444 a year on 171 members, listed at $6,373 in monthly recurring revenue.

Ancient Knowledge Academy is Paul Wallis's Skool community, priced at $55 a month or $444 a year with no free trial. On 4 September 2026 it held 171 members and appeared on Skool's public leaderboard at $6,373.00 in monthly recurring revenue, up $516.00 over the previous thirty days and ranked 40th in the Spirituality category.

It is the second-smallest roster in this week's batch and the third-highest revenue in it. The reason is the price: at $55 it carries the most expensive door of the five rooms we read in depth, and it converts 67.8% of that sticker into realised revenue per member.

Who is Paul Wallis?

Paul Wallis owns the community under the Skool handle paul-wallis-7650. The about page describes him as an internationally bestselling author of The Eden Series and host of The 5th Kind TV and The Paul Wallis Channel, and it is the community's own description that we are quoting.

That existing body of work is doing more here than a bio usually does. The page positions the academy as the place its author teaches weekly, rather than as a standalone product, which is why one clause about his publishing and broadcasting carries the whole credibility section.

The bestselling-author and broadcast credits above are the about page's wording, quoted and not endorsed; we have checked none of them. We describe the subjects the academy covers without endorsing or contesting any historical, religious or cosmological position taken inside it. Everything structural here, members, admins, posts, courses, prices and revenue, was read on 4 September 2026 from the community's own Skool about page and from Skool's public leaderboard.

How short can an about page be?

This short. A three-line premise, one credential, nine inclusions and a price carrying its own stated discount, and nothing else. It is the fastest route from claim to checkout in this batch. What follows is that page in full, emoji swapped for plain markers and ampersands lost in extraction restored in square brackets.

What does a $444 annual price actually discount?

It cuts the effective rate to $37 a month, and the page's own "33% OFF" is calculated against the twelve-month cost. Twelve months at $55 is $660. Paying $444 saves $216, which is 32.7%, so the page's "33%" is rounded up by three tenths of a point. That is trivial, and it is still rounded in the seller's direction, which is worth knowing because the direction of the rounding is the part that is not always trivial.

Put another way, $444 buys twelve months for the price of 8.07 months. That is the sort of discount that only pays for itself if annual members stay past month eight anyway, which is the whole bet. Rooms that discount this hard are trading immediate cash and lower churn against a lower ceiling on lifetime value.

Room Door price Annual option Annual as months of monthly Free trial
Ancient Knowledge Academy $55/month $444/year 8.07 No
Issa Assaf's healing community $49/month $392/year 8.00 7 days
The Equipped Christian $50/month None displayed n/a No
Amanaturis Academy $49/month None displayed n/a 7 free days
Taymiyyah Institute $29/month None displayed n/a 7 days

Only two of the five rooms we read that day published an annual price at all, and both landed within a rounding error of eight months, one describing it as 33% off and the other as four months free. Those are the same offer, described in the two ways buyers respond to. Which framing to use, and what an annual plan does to a leaderboard row, are covered in Skool membership tiers.

The annual plan hides your real member economics: once a meaningful slice of a room is on $444 a year, revenue per member stops being readable against the monthly price from outside. This room shows $37.27 per member against a $55 door, which is 67.8% of sticker, but an annual member contributes exactly $37 a month to that calculation. A room that is entirely annual would look like it was discounting heavily even at full price. We use the ratio as a signal rather than a verdict throughout the [Skool MRR leaderboard](/blog/skool-mrr-leaderboard).

Why does this room have no free trial?

Because the page assumes the buyer already knows the teacher. It describes Paul Wallis as a bestselling author and the host of two channels, and it offers that sentence in place of any argument that the teaching is worth $55. A trial exists to answer is this person any good. This page treats that question as settled before the visitor arrives, which is a bet on the reach of the work named in that one line.

Two of the five rooms we read in depth charge with no trial at all, this one and a 67-day-old Bible study community, and the other three run seven days free. Five rooms is far too small a sample to turn that into a rule, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can say is what this page is relying on: it never argues that its teaching is any good, because it assumes you already decided that elsewhere. Whether that assumption is safe for your own offer is the whole question, and both sides of it are in how the Skool free trial works.

Four things worth stealing from this page

Define your audience by a suspicion. Seekers who feel there is more than the standard story allows is a description of a state of mind, and it lets a beginner and a fifteen-year reader both see themselves in the same sentence. Demographic targeting cannot do that.

Put your name on exactly one bullet. Nine inclusions, and only the first one says with Paul. That single placement tells a reader what the $55 is buying without the page ever having to say the classroom is secondary.

State the discount percentage yourself. Most annual prices are printed and left for the reader to evaluate. This page does the arithmetic, gets it right, and puts no contracts and cancel anytime directly underneath, which answers the objection the annual price creates in the same breath as making it.

Charge on the calendar, not the archive. Sixteen courses across 77 modules is a moderate library, and 1,583 posts across 171 members is a lively room, but the recurring deliverable is weekly classes. Communities that price the library instead find themselves competing with their own finished product every renewal, and the platform fees on either model are identical, as we set out in how much Skool costs.
